Bonded Titles
This procedure is used to handle problems with vehicle ownership when the owner is unable to obtain a title or there is a problem with the title received. The Texas Bonded Title law allows us to secure the required documents through the Department of Motor Vehicles and our bonding company so you can apply for title in your name.
What Types of vehicles are eligible for Bonded Titles?
♦ Automobiles
♦ Trucks
♦ Buses
♦ Trailers (over 4,000 lb. gross)
♦ Travel Trailers
♦ Motor Homes
♦ Motorcycles
Does the vehicle have to be operable?
No, in cases of old vehicles it is best to obtain the bonded title before the vehicle is restored to save on the cost of the Bond. Application to obtain plates can be done later when restoration has been completed. (Vehicle must be complete).
How is the amount of the Bond determined?
The amount of the Bond is determined on late model vehicles from the NADA guide. The Bond value is figured at 1.5 times the retail amount shown in the NADA guide. Most bonds cost $100-$150. If NADA value cannot be determined or you disagree with the value, you can obtain an appraisal from a dealer or insurance adjuster.
How much do you charge for your service?
We charge a $100 service fee on Bonded Titles. Fees for other services vary.
